Survey of Detroit’s rich jazz history, includes “classic” blues and early Rhythm ‘n Blues Includes over 60 rare photographs and unissued or little known samples of Detroit jazz. NOTE: This presentation can focus on any particular decade from 1920–1960.

The Roots of Motown—Bjorn / Gallert
Explores Detroit’s jumpin’ Rhythm & Blues scene, then focuses on the Flame Show Bar, where Berry Gordy's sisters ran the photo concession. Finishes up with recordings by several early Motown artists.

Detroit Blues History: 1940’s–1999—Fred Reif
Reif touches on key figures, including John Lee Hooker, Baby Boy Warren, Boogie Woogie Red, Eddie Burns, Eddie Kirkland, Bobo Jenkins and Washboard Willie.
o Reif can focus on any particular era and the important figures from that era.
